Being a mum, I know how precious time is. With you, my fellow sleep-deprived friend, in mind I made this pattern super easy to use! All sizes are drawn separately, so you can skip the tedious tracing and go straight to the fun part... Just cut out the size you need and get making!
I also know how quickly little ones outgrow their clothes. So I designed this pinafore dress to transform as your girl grows! Starting off it will fit as an A-line dress. As they grow it can be worn as a tunic and then a top! See Size Info for our sizing table.
Sizes from Newborn to 7-8 Y
The pattern is printed on A0 paper, just cut & sew!
You can keep all sizes, no tracing!
Step-by-step colour photo tutorial will guide you through every step
Suitable for adventurous beginners
Overlocker not essential
Link to in-depth post on sewing jerseys on my blog is included.
Optional labelled box for storing your pattern pieces.
• Strip for trims, 20cm length, 1.1m width. (or 25 cm length and 75 cm width)
Ribbing (rib knit jersey) gives the best result. Alternatively you could also cut the trims out of the same fabric as the dress, or a different jersey fabric, as long as it has good stretch & recovery!
•Double sided fusible hem tape, 1m.
•Twin needle (optional)
This pattern is suitable for beginning dressmakers, the photo tutorial will guide you through every step. If you are totally new to sewing, why not have a go at making our Leggy Pants first?
